Our sociology degree provides an in-depth understanding of a range of important social issues including health and illness, media, gender, ageing, childhood and child protection, the environment, new technologies, work and family, social policy, and deviance. Students are encouraged to think critically about aspects of social life which we perhaps take for granted or fail to notice, applying a range of analytic and methodological techniques for ‘doing sociology’. Teaching is carried out by academics with specific expertise and research profiles across a range of sociological areas, ensuring students gain the most up-to-date knowledge and skills during their degree.
